His performance as real-life Irish businessman James Dolan in Billy the Kid (MGM+, 2022) earned him critical acclaim and the Leo Award for Best Lead Performance in a Drama Series. In 2024 and 2025, Rook continued his momentum with starring roles in the psychological thriller Brother (2024), the holiday romance A Dickens of a Christmas (2024) opposite Ashley Newbrough, and the supernatural thriller Witches X (2024) opposite Michael Eklund.
